YunMuse ("we," "our," or "us") operates the YunMuse web application (the "Service"), an AI-powered BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) reading platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

We are based in Los Angeles, California, and comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

  • Birth Information: Date of birth (year, month, day), birth hour (optional), and birth location details you provide to calculate your chart. This data is used to generate your BaZi chart, personalized reading, follow-up answers, and saved account history.
  • Profile Information: Name or nickname, gender, locale, and related onboarding details you choose to provide.
  • Saved Reading Content: If you save a reading while signed in, we store your chart summary, primary reading, follow-up chat history, and generated insight cards.
  • Email Address: If you sign up, request reading summaries by email, or voluntarily provide an address for updates.
  • Usage Data: We collect product analytics such as page views, feature usage, device type, and event metadata to improve the Service and monitor reliability.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate your personalized BaZi chart and AI-powered reading
  • To enable follow-up conversations about your chart
  • To send product updates if you subscribe to our waitlist
  • To improve our Service through anonymized analytics

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Storage & Retention

  • Saved account data: If you create an account or choose to save a reading, we store the related profile data, chart inputs, reading content, follow-up chat history, and insight cards in our database until you delete them or request deletion.
  • Local storage: Privacy consent status and email (if provided), along with certain product preferences and session flags, may be stored locally in your browser via localStorage.
  • AI processing: Your data is sent to our AI provider to generate readings, follow-up responses, and insight cards.
  • Guest usage: If you use YunMuse without an account, some generated content may remain only in your current browser session unless you later sign in and choose to save it.

5. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

As a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA and CPRA:

  1. Right to Know: You can request what personal information we have collected about you.
  2. Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal information, including saved readings and profile data. You can also clear your browser's localStorage to remove locally stored preferences and session data on your device.
  3. Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information.
  4. Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
  5. Right to Correct: You can request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  6. Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Information: Your birth information is used only for the stated purpose of BaZi reading generation.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini (AI): For generating BaZi readings, follow-up conversations, and insight cards.
  • Supabase: For authentication, account storage, saved readings, and related application data.
  • Resend / transactional email providers: For account confirmation emails and reading summary delivery.
  • Vercel: For hosting the Service. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Access controls for saved account data
  • Rate limiting to prevent abuse
  • Minimal data collection (we only ask for what is necessary)

8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date.
